who work with students in kindergarten through high school.

The Colorado Mining Association Education Foundation, Inc. sponsors the program in early summer each year in cooperation with the Colorado School of Mines Office of Special Programs and Continuing Education.

More than 1,400 educators from Colorado, throughout the United States, and overseas have completed the course during its 39-year history. It all happens on the campus of the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. In a comprehensive program of classroom instruction you’ll learn all about the modern mining industry. You’ll gain a powerful portfolio of authoritative, useful information you can use every day in your classroom. Graduate from the course with a select set of lesson plans, developed by the course participants, that you can apply in your classroom this fall! Have a valuable journal of your memories and impressions written in the classroom and on exciting field trips, to which you can refer in your future years of teaching.

A dedicated faculty of more than seventy-five skilled industry professionals lead intensive classroom sessions designed to provide teachers with a broad understanding of this important American industry, plus knowledge and access to resources you can use in teaching your students about mining’s vital role in America’s future. Each session also provides ample opportunity for informative give-and-take interaction with the presenters. To complement campus classroom instruction, you’ll participate in more than a dozen exciting hands-on visits to operating laboratories, mines and quarries.
